Ardmore Oceanfront Manor

Welcome to Ardmore Oceanfront Manor, an exceptional oceanfront retreat set on 1.64 private acres in the peaceful Ardmore neighbourhood of North Saanich. With approximately 7,041 square feet of living space, six bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms, this impressive West Coast estate offers the space, privacy and setting for a truly memorable Vancouver Island getaway.

Surrounded by mature trees and overlooking the waters of the Saanich Inlet, the manor feels wonderfully removed from the pace of everyday life, yet it is only a short drive from Sidney, Victoria International Airport, the Swartz Bay ferry terminal and many of the most popular attractions on southern Vancouver Island.

Spacious, Comfortable and Made for Gathering

Designed for families and groups travelling together, Ardmore Oceanfront Manor provides an abundance of room to gather while still offering plenty of space to spread out and enjoy some quiet time.

The home's six generous bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms comfortably accommodate larger families, multi-generational vacations, couples travelling together or groups of friends looking for a special place to reconnect.

Built in 1990 in a classic one-and-a-half-storey design, the approximately 7,041-square-foot residence features expansive living areas suited to everything from relaxed mornings and family dinners to evenings spent visiting after a full day exploring Vancouver Island.

Whether everyone gathers together or finds their own favourite corner of the house, there is room here to settle in and make yourself at home.

Your Own Private Oceanfront Escape

Outside, the property opens onto more than an acre and a half of peaceful, tree-lined grounds along the Saanich Inlet.

Start the morning with coffee outdoors while taking in the ocean air and changing views across the water. Spend a lazy afternoon enjoying the grounds, let the kids burn off some energy on the lawn, or simply find a quiet spot to sit beneath the trees.

As evening settles over the inlet, relax in the private hot tub overlooking the water and watch the colours change across the sky.

The semi-rural setting of Ardmore is one of North Saanich's greatest charms. Winding country roads, forests, farms, beaches and ocean views give the area a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere, yet restaurants, shopping, attractions and transportation are all within easy reach.

Explore Sidney by the Sea

A short drive from the manor brings you to Sidney by the Sea, a walkable seaside community overlooking the Salish Sea and Gulf Islands.

Spend an afternoon wandering along Beacon Avenue, browsing independent shops and bookstores, stopping for coffee or lunch, and then continue to Sidney's waterfront walkway and Beacon Park. Sidney is known for its oceanfront setting, local restaurants, cafés, marinas, parks and relaxed small-town character.

Families can visit the Shaw Centre for the Salish Sea, an aquarium and marine education centre showcasing the remarkable ecosystem and marine life of the Salish Sea, or explore the Sidney Museum and its exhibits on the history of the Saanich Peninsula.

During the summer months, Sidney is also the departure point for passenger ferry service to Sidney Spit, part of Gulf Islands National Park Reserve. Its long sandy shoreline is a wonderful destination for walking, picnicking, birdwatching and spending a summer day beside the sea.

Beaches, Parks and Hiking

One of the pleasures of staying on the Saanich Peninsula is having so much of the outdoors close at hand.

Nearby ȽÁU,WELṈEW̱/John Dean Provincial Park protects impressive stands of Douglas-fir and Garry oak forest on Mount Newton, with a network of walking and hiking trails through one of the Peninsula's beautiful natural areas.

For another easy outdoor excursion, Horth Hill Regional Park offers forested trails at the northern end of the Peninsula.

Beach lovers can explore the shoreline around North Saanich, including Chalet Beach in Deep Cove, or venture to Island View Beach Regional Park on the eastern side of the Peninsula, where a long shoreline and views across the Salish Sea make it a favourite place for beach walks.

Sidney itself has numerous waterfront parks and access points, with its waterfront walkway providing an easy way to enjoy the coastline without leaving town.

Discover the Farms, Wineries and Flavours of the Saanich Peninsula

The Saanich Peninsula is also one of Vancouver Island's wonderful agricultural areas. Country roads wind past farms, orchards, vineyards, roadside stands and local markets, making an afternoon drive part of the experience.

Visit Deep Cove Winery, conveniently located in North Saanich, or explore Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse, where an estate orchard and cider house provide another taste of the Peninsula's agricultural character.

For local produce, baked goods and casual food, stop at The Fickle Fig Farm Market or Roost Farm Winery, Bakery, and Bistro. Nearby Deep Cove Market (Deep Cove Trading Co) is another convenient local stop for groceries, deli items and provisions to bring back to the manor.

World-Famous Gardens Close to Home

No visit to the Saanich Peninsula would be complete without experiencing The Butchart Gardens in Brentwood Bay.

This internationally renowned 55-acre display garden has been welcoming visitors for more than a century and is designated a National Historic Site of Canada. Its famous Sunken Garden was created from a former limestone quarry, with additional gardens and seasonal displays making it one of Vancouver Island's signature attractions.

Nearby, Victoria Butterfly Gardens offers an indoor tropical experience filled with butterflies, tropical birds, tortoises, flamingos, frogs, tropical plants and other fascinating creatures.

Aviation enthusiasts can also spend a few hours at BC Aviation Museum near Victoria International Airport, with its collection of historic aircraft and exhibits exploring British Columbia and Canadian aviation history.

Experience Victoria

Ardmore Oceanfront Manor also makes an excellent home base for exploring Victoria, British Columbia's historic capital city.

Head downtown for a day along the Inner Harbour and explore some of Victoria's best-known attractions, including the Royal BC Museum, BC Parliament Buildings, Fisherman's Wharf, Beacon Hill Park, Chinatown and historic Government Street.

Enjoy afternoon tea at the Fairmont Empress, wander through the shops and restaurants of Old Town, visit Craigdarroch Castle, or simply walk the Inner Harbour as floatplanes, harbour ferries and boats come and go.

Victoria is also one of Canada's premier destinations for whale and marine wildlife watching, with tours heading into the waters surrounding southern Vancouver Island in search of orcas, humpback whales, seals, sea lions, porpoises, eagles and other wildlife.

After a full day in the city, leave the crowds behind and return to the quiet of North Saanich and your private retreat beside the Saanich Inlet.
